Advantages and Disadvantages of Pampered Pooches

It’s no secret that some people pamper their pooches. You probably know some of these people or may even be one yourself. Regardless, let’s take a look at the pros and cons of pampering your hound to see if this is something that should be continued or not.

First of all when the day begins, pampered pups are inside snug and warm in their orthopedic dog beds complete with nice cuddly blanket, soft pillow and small stuffed animal. Of course these aren’t just any orthopedic dogs beds, either. They most often come in a fabric with design and color scheme that compliments their owner’s bedroom, as they sleep off to the side of their master’s or mistress’s bed.

So when owner gets up to go to the necessary room right off, poochie heads to the back door, garage or other area and slips quietly out the dog door to make necessary time as well. Now here’s where another interesting twist comes into play for these pampered pooches. Often they are tiny beasts or elderly ones requiring help navigating the distance between the home floor versus the ground level when heading outdoors. In these cases, pet stairs are in place outside the house to help the hounds easily step down to the yard without the need to jump outside and possibly injure tired or tiny legs and feet in the process. (Let’s face it, cats they are not )

Of course these pampered pooches know they must head to well-known areas outdoors, like possibly a nice grassy area in your neighbor’s yard (just kidding!) And then it’s up the pet stairs once again and into the nice, warm home for breakfast.

Meal Time & Snack Time

Of course you know meal time must be something special. Any old cheap dog food from any old store just won’t do. Nor would brand name bags of dog food from Wal-Mart® or other similar places work either. No, what these pampered pooches diet on is a wonderful brand of organic dog food from their favorite grocer, be it local or online. This is served for every meal, of course, along with organic dog treats in between, great for keeping teeth clean.

This brings us to advantages of pampered pooches. The many pluses include:

1) Nice, warm healthy environment all year-round that encourages good health, self esteem and fun.
2) Best nutrition available through preferred dietary and dental programs.
3) Good joint program with the use of stairs.
4)  A happy pooch in a comfortable, safe, secure environment.

Of course there are disadvantages, too. These include:

  1. Needy pet who must have door installed somewhere in your home in order to come and go outside at will.
  2. More expensive meal and treat regimen need to be implemented to keep pooch stocked with organic foodstuffs.
  3. The need for additional pet paraphernalia like pet stairs.

The bottom line about pampered pooches is this: if you prefer a happy, healthy pet, pamper him or her. If you just want someone to hang out with, be a buddy and of course still be our best friend, anything will do that’s clean, safe and healthy for both of you – and your budget.
